The Making of a Comic Page Videos

I broadcasted on Ustream last week. It was tons of fun! It was nice to be back and chatting with friends again. Dani Draws LIVE Returns!

Due to hectic schedules and deadlines, it has been awhile since I have done a live artcast on Ustream. Well never fear! I’ve decided it’s time for me to dust off that webcam and broadcast again!

If you are unfamiliar with my live show, I use a site called Ustream to broadcast live video from my studio while I draw, paint, or whatever. I also like to giveaway sketches and other fun stuff. There is a chat room where people can ask questions, make comments, or just chat. It is an awesome unique experience because I can interact with people in real time and have actual conversations with the audience.

Summer of Heroes

I’m going to kick off the summer with a brand new, all-for-fun, sketch project. I’m calling it the Summer of Heroes. If you are familiar with the Monster-a-Day project I did last Halloween, this will be similar.

Starting this week and for the rest of the summer, I’m going to create a series of sketch cards depicting my favorite heroes from pop culture. Think Superman, Buffy Summers, and Luke Skywalker. The art will be posted here at the top of this post as I finish them. Check back often to keep track of the progress.

As part of the fun, I will be creating these all on my Ustream show, where you can chat with me in real-time and discuss art, movies, and TV with me while I am drawing. Go here to watch the show and look at the schedule.

Ustream Questions Answered

Since I’ve started broadcasting on Ustream, I’ve received quite a few questions regarding software, hardware, and how-to of a Ustream show. If you are an artist and are curious about joining the live stream scene, here’s a quick overview of my own setup and techniques.

What is Ustream?

Ustream is a web service that allows you to easily stream live video over the internet. The site has been used to stream a variety of content such as news broadcasts, concerts, podcasts, or sporting events. In my case, I draw and paint.
