Thanks for your review. It was very helpful regarding your links and info on the gps functions.
All the searching I did and your couple paragraphs got my gps working! I guess I'm slow but appreciate the info

Hello everyone,

I got my modbook this week, unfortunately the device has some issues:

- The screen light won't turn on everytime (especially when the battery is about 1/3 or 1/2 full)
- I have occasional freezes after 10 to 20 minutes of work (=drawing)

Has anyone had similar experience?

I told OWC and am waiting for a possible explanation (apart form parameter ram reset and such tricks)

Regards, Marin

Lucie - 1. The current Modbook no longer has bluetooth issues, so you can use the wireless mouse just fine. 2. The Modbook has an on-screen keyboard. The modifier keys "stick" when you press them so you can use them for key commands and such.

Hello, please could you answer me 2 questions about the ModBook...?
1. If there are problems with bluetooth, does it mean, that it is impossible to use bluetooth Apple mouse with ModBook? (Sometimes I would like to use mouse instead of pen)
2. If there are no Shift key, how it is possible to - for example draw the cyrcle in Illustrator? Is there some possibility to do this (without external keyboard)? I hope so... I can imagine to work without any other keys, but Shift, Alt and Command are necessary.
Thank you a lot for the answer...

Dani

I haven't noticed this before, but I noticed it just now. My modbook does not have iphoto, idvd, and garageband. It does have itunes, but odd that it's missing. I've emailed OWC and asked why this is the case. So for anyone ordering, make sure u get that installed.

Hi Dani

Yup, yup. my mb works flawlessly. It's pretty cool. A bit heavy, but still cool.

One cool thing to have would be a built in fold out foot, to prop it up on an angle. Still, I think it is a cool product. With everyone waiting for a mac tablet, I was able to get my mb in a few days.

I will have to test it out in the field and see how it works!

Jimbo - I think you might be referring to the infamous "cursor jumping" issue, where the cursor would spontaneously move/click, and the lights would flash for a second. I did have that issue, but I believe that Axiotron has fixed this for the most part. I sent my Modbook in for a free fix, and the issue is greatly resolved. All newer models, including yours, should be all set.

Dani,
I saw a modbook on ebay with the seller name of Danixxxx(some numbers I don't remember). Just added 2 and 2 and got 5. Sorry.

I do have to say that I ordered a Modbook and it arrived on Friday DOA. The screen turns grey and does nothing. I can hear the intro song welcoming me to OSX, but I cannot see a thing. Any advice? It looks like it is going back the day I opened it. /sigh
