Richard Amsel was all the rage when I was in art school. The Divine Miss M, The Sting, Raiders of the Lost Ark, many TV Guide covers. In the late 70′s he was everywhere. Died of AIDS in 1985.

I still haven’t looked at all of them, but de Séve is my favourite so far. I love his somewhat realistic shading combined with cartoonish proportions.
