It’s a little last minute for Illustration Friday, and it’s the wrong holiday, but oh well. Here’s a drawing I did of Scrooge and Marley.
This past Saturday, I went to the Pumpkin Festival in Keene, NH. There were pumpkins everywhere (about 25,000 of them)! Here’s a little sketch I made. My sister drew the mouse. :)
I’ve decided to try something new. I used some cool software to record my screen while I was painting. I liked how it turned out and thought I would share it. Let me know what you think.

Update: Some answers to frequently asked questions…
What software did you use to make the video?
- SnapZ Pro X (Mac OS X), with edits made in Quicktime Pro
What brushes did you use?
- Most of the brushes I use are from Photoshop’s “Natural Brushes” set. I don’t modify them very much, but I usually apply my own texture to them.
How did you create the drawing?
- It was created by drawing over a scanned sketch in Photoshop. It sits on a separate layer above the rest of the painting.
Here is the finished painting of a sketch I posted earlier. I submitted it to the Black and Orange competition that’s being run over at Illustration Friday.
And while I was in the Halloween spirit, I took the time to decorate my website. See it here.
